What you will do
You will be working as an experienced QA Automation Engineer, bringing strong Playwright expertise together with a solid understanding of software development. The role combines test automation, CI/CD, and quality engineering with hands-on troubleshooting across frontend and backend components. You will also use AI-powered development tools and agentic workflows to support test automation, defect investigation, and modern software delivery practices.
Design, build, and maintain a scalable test automation framework based on Playwright.
Set up and continuously improve the automation testing environment.
Define automation standards, testing strategy, and framework architecture.
Develop and maintain reliable end-to-end (E2E), regression, smoke, and integration test suites.
Create reusable test components and utilities following automation best practices.
Implement test reporting, analytics, and failure investigation processes.
Manage test data, test environments, and test execution reliability.
Continuously improve test coverage, automation efficiency, and overall test quality.
Integrate Playwright test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
Configure automated test execution for pull requests, deployments, and scheduled runs.
Identify and resolve flaky tests and environment-related issues.
Collaborate with developers to improve product quality and development processes.
Participate in release validation and contribute to defining quality gates.
Investigate defects identified during automated and manual testing.
Perform root cause analysis across frontend and backend components.
Analyze browser logs, application logs, API responses, and error traces.
Implement fixes for simple to moderately complex defects when appropriate.
Create high-quality bug reports with clear reproduction steps and relevant technical details.
Validate fixes and perform regression testing.
Work across frontend, backend, and test automation layers to investigate and resolve issues.
Use AI-powered development tools to accelerate test automation, investigation, and quality engineering activities while maintaining engineering standards.
Validate AI-generated code, tests, and recommendations and ensure they meet required quality and reliability standards.
Collaborate with development teams operating within AI-assisted or agent-driven engineering environments.
Contribute to establishing effective quality gates and verification processes for AI-generated code and test artifacts.
What you will need
5+ years of experience in QA Automation, with strong hands-on experience building and maintaining Playwright-based test automation frameworks.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript, with solid experience in E2E, API, integration, and regression testing.
Good knowledge of Playwright, including test runner, fixtures, Page Object Model, parallel execution, authentication, API testing, network interception, cross-browser testing, and test reporting.
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and working with tools such as Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, and Docker.
Good understanding of modern web applications and the ability to read, troubleshoot, and make smaller changes to Vue.js code.
Solid understanding of Python, REST APIs, HTTP, and JSON, with the ability to investigate backend issues and implement straightforward fixes when needed.
Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills, with the ability to investigate issues across the frontend, backend, API, and test automation layers.
Hands-on experience using AI-powered development tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, or similar solutions in everyday engineering work.
Experience using AI to support test automation, test case and test data generation, defect investigation, root cause analysis, code review, or documentation, with the ability to critically validate AI-generated outputs.
Understanding of AI-assisted and agentic software development workflows, including how to review AI-generated code and tests and identify risks such as incomplete implementations, incorrect logic, security issues, and unreliable tests.
Experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django is a plus.
Experience with performance testing, security testing, API contract testing, or SQL/database troubleshooting is a plus.
Experience with test strategy, quality governance, or Agile/Scrum teams is a plus.
Experience working with AI-assisted test generation or agentic development workflows is a plus
